Ethan Allen, can I get a discount?

So my sweet, adorable, late grandmother once got her genealogy done. That's when we found out we are related to Ethan Allen. Like I think he is my great great great great something or other. You may have heard of him in middle or high school history class. He was pretty much a Revolutionary War hero, NBD ;-) Here's the Wikipedia page if you're interested.

So anyways, I'm sure you've heard of Ethan Allen furniture. It's pretty expensive stuff. Welp, my Grandmom got this idea that we deserve a discount since we are distantly related to this man, so she marched herself (much to her friend's humiliation) into an Ethan Allen furniture store, told them her story, and asked for a discount on some furniture. They turned her down (politely I hope) and she was on her way. I just think this story is hilarious though. She had moxie, my friend. The laugh is on them though, because in 2nd grade I got an Ethan Allen desk from a yard sale, boo ya!

Here's me and the troublemaker himself at Fort Ticonderoga.

Can't you see the resemblance? haha
