January Goals

So there's currently 8 inches of snow on the ground, it's 7 degrees but with the wind at 35mph the wind chill makes it feel like -9, and the snow is blowing all over the place. My dogs are not pleased and are currently wrapped up in blankets while I get ready for work. Boy, do I love driving in this stuff (can you sense the sarcasm?) Anyways, I cannot believe it is already January 2014, this is just crazy! I feel like I just wrote up my December Goals. Anyways, let's see how I did last month:

1) Send out Christmas cards. Woop! This is one goal I can say I 100% accomplished, oh yea!

2) Workout 4x per week. Umm oops. If I got in 1 workout per week during the whole month of December than I was lucky. I was SO busy, and then by the time I get home from work I was seriously wiped out and all I wanted to do is lay around, but that has to change.

3) Not give in to the holiday binge-eating habit. Well, I will give myself a 50% on this one. I did pretty well most of the month (I even refrained from having birthday cake on Savanna's birthday) but then Christmas Eve through New Years I kinda let loose.

Okay, new year, new goals, new attitude. Just kidding, some of the same goals and I really haven't changed my attitude, but I am going to meet all three of my goals this month, I really am I swear!

January Goals

One. Workout at least 3x per week. This goes along with my weight loss journey (I will be posting an update this weekend, btw). You gotta workout to lose weight, so let's do this. I ordered a recumbent exercise bike off Amazon and I've already started using it woop woop.

Two. Come up with a weekly series for my blog. I already know what I want to do, I just need it iron out the details!

Three. Stick to a budget. My student loan payments have all been coming due and I owe SO MUCH MONEY (thanks law school). I literally can't look at it without getting sick to my stomach/teary-eyed, so Brian has all these spreadsheets made up for me. I have to cut down my spending; sticking to the budget will really make a difference. P.S. if you want to see pretty much how I feel about student loan payments, check out this funny but oh-so-true post of Elizabeth's.

What are your goals for this month? Linking up with Erica and Whitney. Have a great weekend!

  1. I probably cry over my loans at least once a month, lol. All I can think is...I could be saving so much money! But then, I guess I wouldn't have a degree. Win-lose situation?

Good luck on your goals! You can do them all...I have faith in you! :)

  2. I just made a budget for the next 2 years that will allow me to pay off everything except my two largest student loans (which I will have FOREVER). YOU CAN DO IT! It's hard, but it can be done. Good luck with your goals.

  5. Let me know how that bike works out for you! I need something I can work out with at home. I have Insanity, but I just can't get myself to do it. Maybe because every time I start I wanna fall over and die from the pain. Yep, that would be the reason why.
