Dog Carrying (& Mops)

Okay this week is going to be so hard. The first full week of work in like 3 weeks ahhh! Anyways, the title of the post is so random because after I realized what I wrote about that was my summary haha

Friday night Brian and I went to Aroogas and I kicked some butt at trivia (okay, we each beat each other once). Saturday we went to see Frozen finally but it was SOLD OUT wahhh! Saturday night the Devils and Sabres were playing each other and my friend's husband and Brian like those teams so it was perfect, except she bailed because her other friend needed to use her washing machine? What-to-the-ever.

So instead my dad and I tried to take the dogs on the walk but the salt and snow was bothering them. They started whimpering and wouldn't walk anymore so we had to carry them all the way back and it was hilarious. Seriously, I could not stop laughing because we probably looked so ridiculous! Then Brian and I decided to go out to dinner again. Sunday was a relaxing, watch football (Brian), and lay around (me) day. Also, the Bachelor, Revenge, The Good Wife, and Betrayal are back!

My least favorite part of the weekend was cleaning. Seriously, who invented that ish because I hate it. It is always a big production. When I was in my first two years of law school and my apartment was teeny tiny I cleaned wayyy more often than I do now, which is not good probably. I clean the kitchen counters pretty much everyday, and the bathrooms get completely done at least twice a month (is that bad? oh well), but what I hate is vacuuming. Thank goodness Brian does it instead. I'll stick my arm down any toilet and scrub away, but put a vacuum in my hands and I'm like dude, no.

I was like "I know you don't expect me to actually use this thing"

Also, does anyone mop anymore? If so, me too. I'm lying, but now I'll be honest- the last time I legit mopped the kitchen floor was after my finals in my second to last semester of law school.. which was over a year ago. Swiffers with wet pads do the same thing, right? Thought so.

Not really sure how this post turned into one about cleaning, but if you want to come clean my house (especially mop my floors, or buy me one of those new cool mopping Roomba things) I will love you forever! haha Have a great Monday people :-)

  1. I'm the same way with counters! I will go to clean up one little thing and decide...hey, I may as well just clean the entire counter. I don't mind vacuuming either. And we do mop...mainly because we like how it makes our house smell. Just don't make me do laundry...that's where I start complaining.

Digging your hat in that picture. ;) Happy Monday!

  2. Walter hates walking on the snow. Also, I took him out last night and we had to go between the houses so he could do his business without getting blown over. Not kidding...it was that windy.

  3. Yup swiffers are my life. I love whoever invented them. You are a sweet doggie momma to carry the pups away from the salt. Dogs do not approve of the icy weather!

  4. Hahahaha!!! I love it when my house is clean although I NEVER mop the floors, how do you do that with a 4 year old that doesn't nap someone please tell me!?! The two things I hate the most are washing dishes followed a close second by folding clothes. I do love vacuuming though so I'll come vacuum your floors!!

  5. Mopping...I'm pretty sure my mom does that! I cleaned Saturday night, and my daughter came downstairs going 'Oooooh Mommy the house is so pretty and cleeeeeean.' Which should give you an idea of how often I do it these days....oh well. You carrying the dogs is a pretty funny picture tho!

  6. I actually do the get down on my hands and knees and scrubs the floor with a bucket and rag...but mostly because I can pretend I'm Cinderella. I also don't vacuum. The house only gets vacuumed when my husband does it, and I don't care. Hate the vacuum.

  7. I'm the worst cleaner there ever was. My kitchen floor never feels clean but I scrubbed it on hands and knees with vinegar over the break and I felt so accomplished! 99% of the time it's all swiffer, though! I love having laminate floors because you aren't supposed to get them wet so dry swiffer every few days is all they need!

  8. Cleaning sux but doesn't it feel SO good once it's done? I feel like I can't relax in a messy space. I cleaned all day Friday and the rest of the weekend I was so lazy... it felt amazing!

  9. I have lived in my apartment since August 2012 & I can honestly say I have never mopped my floors.

  10. I like cleaning, but I don't have my own place to scrub top to bottom so I'm sure that will go away.

I'm cracking up about carrying the dogs. I wonder if the "dog lover" from The Bachelor ever did that. Loved tweeting about the show with you last night!

  11. Amen on the vacuuming. I.hate.it. Sadly I have a little human who likes to put everything in his mouth so I vacuum way more than a person should :/ And I only own a mop because my mom bought it to use when she visits...
