Mitchie

When I was in 9th grade and the oldest of 5 kids, my parents sat us down and told us they were going to have another baby. My brother and I were not amused. We whined, "we're going to be like the BRADY BUNCH!"

Well on August 13, 2003, right before my sophomore year of high school started, my Mom was 24 weeks pregnant and started to go into labor, which was way too early. My wild little brother kicked a hole in his little home inside her stomach. She went into the hospital where she stayed on bed rest for nearly 3 months, until my little brother was born (a month early) on November 5th.

My Dad had to work full-time, yet had 5 busy kids at home, ages 15, 13, 11, 9, and 5. Relatives and family friends really came through though, with meals, cleaning duty, rides to soccer and school, etc.

But on November 5, 2003 it was all worth it because the little whirlwind named Mitchell was born and he changed our lives forever. He is full of energy, yet so polite and sweet, and I am so glad he was born and rounded out our Brady-sized family. When asked what he wants for his birthday dinner, he answered Burger King, go figure. So Happy Birthday, Mitchie, it blows my mind that you are 10 now.      "Go Mitchell, Go Mitchell!"

  1. this happened to a friend from HS. She just gave birth to her daughter yesterday morning. She was visiting a friend in CO when it happened, so she has been stuck there - while her other 2 little ones are home in MN. So scary but such a miracle!!!

    Happy Birthday little M.
